What is the average penis size in Turkey?

The claimed 14.1 cm sits right on Söylemez 2012's stretched mean from 2,276 men, relabelled as erect somewhere between the journal and the map. It is one of the closest things to an honest number in the whole compilation, and it is still a measurement of the wrong thing.

The two land within 0.12 cm of each other, but the claim says erect and the study measured stretched. Agreement between two different measurements is a coincidence, not a confirmation.

What was actually measured in Turkey?

Turkey is well measured by the standards of this register. Söylemez 2012 covered 2,276 men. Aslan 2011 measured 1,132 healthy young men at a mean age of 20.3 and found flaccid length 9.3 cm and stretched length 13.7 cm. Two independent clinical series, both large, landing within about three millimetres of each other on the same measure. That is what agreement looks like when it is real rather than coincidental.

The country also holds one of the most useful methodological papers in the literature. Şengezer 2002 measured 200 Turkish men flaccid, stretched and erect, the same men in all three states. Stretched and erect correlated at 80.2 %, which sounds reassuring until you square it: stretched length predicts erect length with an R² of 65.3 %. A third of the variation is unexplained. Flaccid length does worse, at 50.8 %.

So the Turkish entry contains its own refutation. The country that supplies the map with a tidy 14.1 cm also supplies the study demonstrating that the measurement behind it cannot be converted into the measurement the map claims. Both facts come out of the same national literature, and only one of them travels.

Every study located for Turkey

More than one measurement exists here, and they disagree. All of them, in the order they were published.

Study Year n Figure (cm) Measure What it tells you
Aslan et al., Asian J Androl 2011 1,132 13.70 stretched Healthy men, mean age 20.3. Flaccid 9.3 cm, SD on stretched length 1.6 cm, close to the 1.7 this site assumes worldwide.
Şengezer et al., Ann Plast Surg 2002 200 not given flaccid, stretched and erect in the same men The reason no country page here converts stretched to erect: R² of 65.3 % between the two, in the same men.

How does that compare with the rest of the world?

The claim puts Turkey 81st of 119 countries on the ranked list. Here is that number set against the figures that come with a method attached.

Figure cm What it is
The claim for Turkey 14.10 Labelled erect. No method, no sample size, no reference.
Söylemez et al., Int J Impot Res 13.98 stretched, 2,276 men, 2012. The best located measurement in Turkey.
Clinically measured worldwide 13.12 Erect, 15,521 men. Veale 2015, the pooled clinical figure.
Pooled worldwide 13.93 Erect, 55,761 men. Belladelli 2023, 75 studies.
Pooled for Asia 11.74 Erect, 95 % confidence interval 10.18–13.29 cm . Belladelli 2023.

That last interval is 3.11 cm wide, for a whole continent, from the largest meta-analysis there is. The claimed map it sits under spreads all 119 countries across 7.9 cm and prints every country to one decimal place. Read those two sentences together and you have the entire problem with penis size by country.

How many men does the claim cover?

2,276 measured → 30,000,000 described

2,276 men in Turkey appear in the studies this register could locate. The claimed figure is applied to roughly 30,000,000 adult men: one measured man for every 13,181.

Where would you land in Turkey?

Against the claimed figure, because that is the number people mean when they ask. It is the weaker of the two numbers above, and the calculator says so. Everything is computed in your browser and nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere.

What should you take from this?

Turkey grades B because the number traces to a real, large, clinical study. It would grade higher if the label matched the measurement. Read it as 13.98 cm stretched, which is what it is, and not as an erect average, which is what the map made it.

The wider lesson sits in Şengezer's 200 men: two thirds of the way from a stretched measurement to an erect one is as far as anyone can get. Every ranking that mixes the two, and this map mixes them constantly, is adding noise it never accounts for.
